BEST CPR USA is seeking educators, health professionals, and others with a background in teaching. We value a growth mindset and seek individuals who are dynamic, respectful, and adaptable while teaching a diverse audience.
Position Requirements:
We are specifically looking for instructors who can teach at any of our locations, covering at least one weekday morning shift, one weekday evening class, and one weekend date per month (either Saturday or Sunday).
General Onboarding Process:
1. Complete the interest form.
2. Submit a brief resume to info@bestcprseattle.com.
3. Complete a 30-minute phone or video interview with the Executive Director.
4. Attend a class taught by a Master Level Instructor.
5. Shadow at least one additional class and assist in teaching with one Certified Instructor.
6. Conduct one class under live or video review.
About Us:
BEST CPR USA specializes in delivering highly engaging First Aid and CPR classes to both the general public and companies requiring work certifications. We have been operating in the Seattle area since 2007 and have become the most requested training organization in Seattle.
Job Overview:
Instructors lead, instruct, and monitor class participants in small groups of 3 – 35 students per class. We provide all the equipment, training videos, and guidelines for teaching best practices in CPR, as well as professional-quality classrooms.
Instructor Role:
Arrive 30 minutes before the scheduled class time to prepare the room and equipment, and welcome students.Engage participants in an approachable, dynamic, and well-informed manner.Maintain regular communication with the scheduling coordinator to establish your availability.Use registration software to ensure all attendees are pre-registered and mark attendance.Finalize/approve rosters and issue certification cards.Ensure all equipment is cleaned, maintained, and returned to its original location and that the classroom is well-organized and cleaned after each class.Report any equipment and facility maintenance issues to management promptly.
Instructor Qualifications:
At least 6 months of teaching experience in a similar environment (does not have to be as a First Aid and CPR instructor).
Other Qualifications:
- Basic First Aid and CPR Certification (through BEST CPR USA).
- Willingness to secure additional instructor certifications with at least one other major nationally accredited organization (American Heart Association, American Red Cross, ASHI, or equivalent). Equivalencies must be approved by BEST CPR USA management. We will guide you in obtaining these certifications (AHA preferred).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to teach and convey complex concepts of First Aid and CPR in an easily understandable manner.
- Willingness to learn, receive feedback, and consistently improve performance.
- Must be able to move, carry, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Instructor Compensation: Fixed Rates per Class
- Probationary: $175 (first 10 classes)
- Certified: $200
- Master: $250(after 150 classes taught)
Additional Opportunities:
Potential to earn additional income teaching corporate classes, local community classes, and classes for private families and other entities.
All instructors operate as independent contractors (under IRS 1099 guidelines), not as employees. An Independent Contractor Agreement must be signed.
